#Is encryption good for smartphone for android#
Posted via the CrackBerry App for Android Don't take everything you see on the evening news at face value. Not something I'd bank on ever, even with the current headlines RE: Apple putting the FBI's panties in a bunch.

For these purposes encryption enhances one's chances of remaining secure as it pertains the everyday folk. With endorsements from Bruce Schneier and Edward Snowden, Signal is a leading choice for privacy-conscious smartphone users. I encrypt my devices purely to thwart the average/common user, AKA the 8th grader with lax social skills, but boss coding talents or the unmotivated hacker with an affinity for identity theft. Signal is an open source encrypted messaging and calling app for iOS and Android developed by Open Whisper Systems, a team of cryptographers and developers lead by Moxie Marlinspike. The trick is to keep doubt in the picture and not brand yourself to your device. A homeless person sleeps near an advertisement for the Apple iPhone 5C.

Notice I chose 'evading' as opposed to 'procuring complete security' from these entities. The people who most need privacy often can’t afford the smartphones that provide it.

Encryption is a vault that secures our personal information that is held by businesses and government agencies. Every day, often without us even being aware of it, encryption keeps our personal data private and secure.

A burner phone, disposable SIMs, VPN and proxy funneling and being quick and vague in content while promptly going dark afterwards is your best shot at evading the NSA/PRISM. ENCRYPTION IS A PART of almost every service or device we use to live our lives online. Just because you have antivirus software installed on your PC doesnt mean a zero-day Trojan cant steal your personal data. Short of the aforementioned tin can methodology, the best way to keep the NSA off your trail is to shake things up and keep them guessing.
